4477B CloverLane, Eagan MN 55121

Please do not rent or buy until you read this consumer report!

A word of warning to any potential renters who may be looking for a townhome in Eagan. Please avoid a 2-3 bedroom, recently remodeled (work done in 2008) townhome off of Cloverlane in Eagan, MN. This place has been on the market since last Spring. My husband and I had rented it for a brief period of time with the understanding this would be our home and we would be living there for at least 1 year. The landlord re-nigged on the lease and claimed that she preferred to leave the townhome empty so that she could sell it. We should have complained to the housing authorities right then and there, and still may for that matter, since she has given us nothing but trouble. We decided it best to end our lease immediately after my husband was hurt due to her negligence in repairing this place. She was hoping we would continue to pay her rent for a couple of months under the terms of the lease she broke. Sure it looks decent on the outside, but the repairs and remodeling were cheap and shoddy; basically a patch job to get her a quick sale. Too bad her little plan of taking advantage of a renter to make her mortgage payment didn't work out in the end. This home is still up for sale and I am confident she will attempt to rent it out again. On another note, I Googled what the place sold for a year ago, when she purchased it as a quick flip; for what it is currently listed at, its highway robbery since the "remodel" was so cheaply done.

Allow me to list the problems we had with her:
1). Repairs weren't made when we reported them and my husband was subsequently injured. She also blamed us for a defective garage door when neither of us were at the residence to have used it & she had given her broker and handyman the access codes/keys to the townhome.
2). She cashed our deposit instead of putting it in an interest bearing account as she is required to do; didn't return our deposit within 2 weeks of our moving out; and then the check bounced.
3). She did not mail the CRP form to the address we had provided her until the end of February 2009 and then she made errors on the CRP form that she refused to correct. We may not be able to use that form to file our taxes 2008 Minnesota taxes.

So, please heed my warning.

This person is an unprofessional landlord and will resort to immature tactics to avoid taking responisbility for her actions...not to mention she will try to cheat you. In the end she cost us several thousand dollars when we had to pay for movers to assist us since my husband was injured at her residence.

Note: Yes, we did sue but although we had a good case, the battle would not have resulted in much gain. Hopefully, karma will eventually be our vindicator. As the saying goes, what comes around goes around. People like her cannot continue to screw others over just to make a quick buck.
